Animal Dung Fuel
After an animal has digested eaten material, the remains of that material are expelled from its body as waste. These expelled materials are rich in methane and can be collected and dried to produce bio-gas or fuel. A cow's dung may be useful by using it as a alternative fuel by a certain process.
We made an experimentation for this on our EdSci-115 subject to prove that a cow's dung may be useful through an alternate way of making it as a fuel. There were steps to be followed in turning a cow's dung into a usable fuel:
- Mix the cow's dung and powderized charcoal together (amount of the charcoal depends upon the dung)
- Divide and place the mixture on several container with a desired equal shape
- Dry the cow's dung for several days until it has been fully dried without any moist for it to incinerate fast
- Take the dung after it has been fully dried and may be now used
We used the animal dung fuel after following these steps by placing a container with a liter of water in it. Placed the dung fuel and incinerate it. It only took 13 minutes until the liter of water started boiling and 32 minutes until the fuel was fully ashed and incapable of burning again.
In this experimentation we made a conclusion that this animal dung fuel is a really useful and non expensive type of fuel which can be easily made without using much of amount of money and is a very economical way.
